Tony first started visiting the Park in early Spring 2016 originally to exercise
and lose weight to keep his newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes under control.
He quickly fell in love with the park’s stunning, tranquil landscape and its varied wildlife and decided
he and his family would like to give something back and joined the Friends in May 2016.
After leaving school Tony went to Bridgend College to attend a 2-year Secretarial course and has worked in the admin/clerical sector since leaving school, his last position was as Fleet Administrator for local haulier John Raymond
Transport and worked there for 18 years before being made redundant due to the pandemic.
Tony loves getting involved with group events such as litter picking, marshalling and helping with craft activities and regards himself as a good team player.
Tony is very passionate about the Friends, its members and the future of the Park. His wife, Suzanne’s great-great grandmother and great grandmother were both employed by Emily Charlotte Talbot and worked in
Margam Castle.
One of Tony's ambitions for the Friends is to help make the park more accessible for visitors who are mobility impaired or disabled and dreams of being able to offer an outreach service which would enable visitors from local care homes or local groups to come and enjoy a nice relaxing day out at beautiful Margam Park.
