Peter first started visiting the park and surrounding mountains in the 1960s when he married and moved to Margam living within walking distance of this beautiful countryside. The area has been a major part his and the family's leisure time.
During 2017 he attended several Friends events and recognised the important work they undertook to support the development of attractions and help towards the enjoyment of visitor's experience.
Once joining the Friends, he became more active with the group and eventually became a Trustee his main areas of interest has been Twyn yr Hydd garden restoration and developing the Turbine House as a visitor centre and a base for the Friends activities.
Peter is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the Chartered Institute of Structural Engineers and the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management. He was a senior manager with Welsh Water before working as a consultant in the middle and far east, Ireland and USA on utility infrastructure management. Following this he established his own consultancy company managing mobile phone network installations and property development and maintenance before retiring in 2016.
