Fun Fact Friday: Started in April 1982 and completed in November, the Maze that once stood Margam Country Park covered an acre of land.
Thought to be the largest and most complicated in the world. Over 500 tons of stone was used for the paths, 5 miles of wire for fencing, 1 cwt of staples, 1 mile of string to support the trees and 1500 wooden pegs to secure them to the ground was used in the construction.
Altogether there were 3250 trees in the maze, 3000 cypressocyparis castlewellan (Gold) and 250 cypressocyparis leylandii (Dark Green)
