Today we were joined by 19 members of the Great Photography Walk NPT group, who enjoyed a 2 mile Wildlife Walk around the Park. Split into two smaller group with trained walk leaders, we saw Fallow, Red and Pere David deer along the route. We also saw a magnificent Buzzard overhead before heading back to the courtyard for well earned refreshments. Thank you to Mark for organizing a great photography event. We're already looking forward to the next event in the winter.

We were incredibly proud to be able to represent ourselves with members of staff at Margam Country Park in celebrating our Green Flag award this year. Since the 23rd June this year, we have collected 63 black bags of litter and put in 90 hours of volunteer time to the cause. Well done to our dedicated members! #greenflag #keepwalestidy

Today marks the final step in our #bagsofhelp initiate with Tesco. We took delivery of these beautiful hand crafted mindfulness inspired benches, made from 160 year old oak and sequoia wood. They feature poetic plaques and are the perfect place to wonder at the natural beauty of the Park.

We are moving our Facebook 'group' and setting up a new Friends of Margam Park Facebook page. So be sure to like our new page to stay up to date with the latest news and events. Why are we moving? We believe that as a group there are many benefits In moving our social media presence from the current format. Firstly, this will give us an increase in our online presence by allowing us to engage with other groups and pages by tagging and sharing in their posts. Our page will also be featured on search engines such as Google and Bing for the first time. This will help in gathering more leads, which in turn will bring new members into the group. We want to show the public what we do and by having greater control over the content, marketing and settings it will allow us to keep you up to date with all the latest news and events in the Park. We will be able to target an audience with particular interests, whether you enjoy children's activities or health walks, the content you see will be catered to your individual needs. The group will have access to Facebook Insights such as engagement on the page and post performance. This will give every member a better and more professional user experience. On that note a page offers greater privacy settings for our members, meaning that your personal information will NOT be shared with us. We will also be able to assign roles of various levels to other members that will help us in creating and moderating content. Which is a setting in which we can not do with the current format. We can be mobile ready with lots of new features. With our new Facebook page, you can now contact us directly from your phone. See our opening hours and review your experience. We have outgrown the current group and with some exciting news coming soon we strive to give a better experience to all of our members, guests, and to the general public who have come to love and cherish Margam as much as we do. It is therefore why we ask you to spread the word about our fantastic new page and get liking! Please be aware that this current page will go offline on 13/08/2017 |
